Are you ready to walk that extra mile and make your house super clean? Yes, it’s easier said than done, but once you see your home as clean as you have always dreamt, you would want it to stay that way forever. Of course one of the ways to have your house cleaned without unnecessary hassle is by hiring professional cleaning services. An experienced maid would come once or twice a week and do all the cleaning on your behalf. Still, it does not mean you should neglect your house cleaning duties. Here are a few useful tips that will save you time and help you optimise the process:
Make your all-purpose cleaner – this cleaning recipe can make almost every surface glowing. It’s incredibly simple; just mix 4 tbsp. of baking soda with 1-quart warm water. Use a sponge and wipe all kinds of dirt around the house.
Erase marker stains – there are two ways to remove marker stains from any surface. The first method involves using rubbing alcohol. The problem is that rubbing alcohol may also damage the wood finish for example. For marker stains on wood try using toothpaste instead. Just apply the toothpaste on the marker stain and rub with a sponge until the stain is gone.
Remove wall doodles – do you have a little artist at home who thinks that the newly painted walls are canvasses? Use baking soda and a damp microfiber cloth to scrub down the doodles.
Deodorise pet smell – once again, baking soda comes to your rescue. Sprinkle a generous amount of baking soda around the carpet and especially onto the dog’s bed. Wait for around 15 minutes and then vacuum it up.
Clear clogged drains – having a slow drain in the kitchen? Worry not, just put 3 tbsp. of baking soda down the drain, followed by half a cup of white vinegar. Wait about 4-5 minutes to allow the chemical reaction to take effect and pour some boiling water.
Soften fuzzy towels – fuzzy towels are caused by hard water build-up. This makes your towels feel scratchy and unpleasant to use. Try washing them in the hottest water possible and add 1 cup of ammonia without any other laundry detergent.
Make cutting boards look like brand new – over time your cutting board will get stains and absorb the bad smells from all the different foods you’ve been chopping on it. To remove the stains and odours, cut a lemon in half and start rubbing the cutting board with the cut sides. When you are done, sprinkle some sea salt on top of the lemon juice and let it sit for a couple of minutes. Then rinse the board with hot water and dish soap.
Remember that the key to having a sparkling clean house lies in the details. Once you deal with the above issues, you will find out that they have been ruining the cosy environment at home.
